Peer Review Process

Contributions for both sections are anonymized and sent to two reviewers (double blind peer review). Reviewers belong to the Transdigital Editorial Board. In some cases, we consult external reviewers.

Usually, the peer review process takes about 1-2 months. Mainly, four different responses are possible: accepted for publishing, accepted with minor revisions required, accepted with major revisions required, and rejected.

Based on the reviewers' recommendations contributions will be published or not, and the authors are informed of the decision and its reasons. If major revisions are needed, the revised version will be reevaluated by at least one of the reviewers.

Open Access Policy

Transdigital provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge

Publishing Process

Initial manuscript evaluation

The Editors first evaluate all manuscripts. Those rejected at this stage are insufficiently original, have serious scientific flaws, have poor grammar or language quality, or are outside the aims and scope of the journal.

Authors of manuscripts rejected at this stage will be informed within 2 weeks of receipt.

Those that meet the minimum criteria are passed on to at least two experts for review.

Type of Peer Review

Transdigital employs double blind reviewing, where both the referee and author remain anonymous throughout the process.

Selection of referees

Referees are matched to the paper according to their expertise. In some cases, we consult external reviewers. Our database is constantly being updated. We welcome suggestions for referees from the author, though these recommendations may or may not be used.

Referee reports

Referees are asked to evaluate whether the manuscript:

  • Is original.
  • Is methodologically sound.
  • Follows appropriate ethical guidelines.
  • Has results which are clearly presented and support the conclusions.
  • References correctly previous relevant work.

Referees are not expected to correct or copyedit manuscripts. Language correction is not part of the peer review process.

Final report

A final decision to accept or reject the manuscript will be sent to the author along with any recommendations made by the referees and may include verbatim comments by the referees.

The Editors' decision is final

Referees advise the Editor in chief, who is responsible for the final decision to accept or reject the article. Mainly four different responses are possible: accepted for publishing, accepted with minor revisions required, accepted with major revisions required, and rejected.

Editorial Process

The review process of the manuscript will last a maximum of 120 calendar days. After such review, the editorial decision will be communicated to the authors by e-mail.

All submissions that are reviewed and receive a positive evaluation, but which require modifications (either minor or major), will be returned within a maximum of 15 days.

The authors will receive evaluation reports from the reviewers, anonymously, so the relevant corrections or responses can be made.

The authors of accepted articles will receive the printing proofs for correction by e-mail in PDF format before final publication. The corrected versions must be returned to the journal’s editorial team by e-mail within 72 hours of their receipt. The Editorial Board will only accept corrections regarding spelling or punctuation of the content of the previously evaluated original manuscript.

Once the manuscript has been accepted, the final version for publication must be returned with all proposed changes in English or Spanish for the edition of Transdigital.

Article Processing Charges

Once the text has been approved by the evaluation committee, the fee of 3,500 Mexican pesos (220 USD) must be paid.

Research Assesment Policy

Transdigital journal agrees with the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA). This declaration recognizes the need to improve the ways in which the outputs of scientific research are evaluated. Thus, Transdigital journal pledges to follow the five DORA guidelines for publishers:

1. Greatly reduce emphasis on the journal impact factor as a promotional tool, ideally by ceasing to promote the impact factor or by presenting the metric in the context of a variety of journal-based metrics (e.g., 5-year impact factor, EigenFactor, SCImago, h-index, editorial and publication times) that provide a richer view of journal performance.

2. Make available a range of article-level metrics to encourage a shift toward assessment based on the scientific content of an article rather than publication metrics of the journal in which it was published.

3. Encourage responsible authorship practices and the provision of information about the specific contributions of each author.

4. Whether a journal is open-access or subscription-based, remove all reuse limitations on reference lists in research articles and make them available under the Creative Commons Public Domain Dedication.

5. Remove or reduce the constraints on the number of references in research articles, and, where appropriate, mandate the citation of primary literature in favor of reviews in order to give credit to the group(s) who first reported a finding.

Policy and process for the detection of non-original material

The Editor in chief of Transdigital journal uses specialized software on the detection of percentage of similarity of texts in order to identify unoriginal content and, by doing so, be able to manage properly a potential academic misconduct.

Considering the high prices of the software, Transdigital uses free licences of Viper, Paper Rater, Plagium, Plagiarism Checker, Dupli Checker, Plag.es and  Wcopyfind.

The process of compare texts online and perform extensive searches across the internet is carried out as soon as a text is received. Evidence of those searches and the reports are carefully archived.
