Effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on the academic activities of High School students

This quantitative and descriptive research was conducted among high school students at the San Juan del Río campus of the Autonomous University of Querétaro. The aim was to answer two research questions: what are the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on the development of high school students' academic activities? And, is it possible to categorize these consequences into a positive or negative aspect? A virtual survey designed with the Google Forms application was applied to a representative sample of 74 randomly selected students from the first, third, and fifth semesters in the morning and evening shifts, with an age range of 15 to 18 years. The findings suggest that there were indeed health effects, mainly psychological; educational technology was generally well received, but was also distracting; there was a lack of timely communication between teachers and students during the period of social confinement; and those students with good academic performance knew how to perform a state of flow, unlike those who had poor performance, who felt anxiety and anguish.
